Welcome to Jewish San Antonio

Jews arrived in San Antonio in the mid 19th Century. Some came as merchants, were paid in cattle, and ended up as ranchers. The first cemetary was established in 1855 in the southeast section of the city.

Today San Antonio has a representation of all the major streams of religious Judaism.
