Community wide Shabbat programming to educate about & honor the work of the Chevra Kadisha (Burial Society).

Zayan Adar (7th of Adar) is the traditional date to host programming about the Chevra Kadisha because it the day of Moshe Rabbinu’s death. This year, it falls on Feb 16.

Congregations and organizations can choose their own way to commemorate this date: through a special meal, educational programming, visiting the cemetery, etc. Our hope is that each faith leader will include information about the SA Chevra Kadisha and its holy work in their address to their congregants on this Shabbat.
