Join us for a farewell Shabbat Dinner on Friday, May 29, following worship services, as we celebrate and say “shalom for now” to Rabbi Marina Yergin before she heads north to her new congregation in Chicago.

Before Rabbi Marina trades Tex-Mex for deep dish and the Alamo City for the Windy City, we’re gathering our Temple family for one more joyful evening together. Come help us give her a send-off that’s nacho average goodbye—filled with gratitude, laughter, memories, and plenty of San Antonio spirit.

While Chicago may be famous for its cheesy pizza, we promise our goodbyes will be even cheesier (in the best way). Dinner will feature a festive Tex-Mex meal—because you can take the rabbi out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the rabbi—followed by a sweet treat prepared with love by Temple Beth-El Sisterhood.

So come taco ’bout memories, share blessings, and help us send Rabbi Marina off from the Alamo to Lake Michigan with full hearts, full plates, and a whole lot of love. It won’t be easy to say goodbye—but together we’ll make sure Rabbi Marina leaves knowing that she’ll always have a home (and maybe a taco or two) waiting for her in San Antonio.
