Living on Autopilot
Why the crash of jetliner should make us reconsider the way we live
On May 31, 2009, Air France 447, an Airbus A-330 flying from Rio to Paris, went down over the Atlantic Ocean, killing all aboard. The story of how the plane went down is the story of how highly trained professionals had so much confidence in computers that they forgot the basics. It teaches what can happen if we live our lives on autopilot.
