JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing & Communications Manager will champion and implement an innovative strategic marketing & communications plan for the organization that is fully integrated with Jewish Federation of San Antonio’s mission, vision, and fundraising goals. Reporting to the Jewish Community Relations Council Director in collaboration with all departments, the Marketing and communications Manager will manage a part-time Digital Communications Intern.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create consistent branding and messaging organization-wide, managing evolving marketing resources, including a combination of traditional and new/digital strategies to further the mission of the Federation.

  • Maintain primary website (jfsatx.org), making updates to program pages, and creating new pages for events.

  • Oversee the print and digital Jewish Journal, an online newspaper provided for free to the Jewish community. This includes communicating with community and staff to collect articles, maintaining submission forms, working with an editor, uploading monthly articles, and ensuring print is sent out on time.

  • Collaborate across departments to create collateral and creative materials for fundraising efforts, email campaigns, newsletters, events, and programs.

  • Develop and execute a robust innovative marketing strategy that supports the needs of the fundraising organization and other stakeholders while increasing brand identity and recognition.

  • Drive strategy to increase social and interactive multi-media marketing campaigns including YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.

  • Collaborate with the senior staff and program managers to develop and review press releases, campaigns and marketing materials to support patronage, sponsorship and Endowment efforts.

  • Develop and manage crisis communication plans and procedures.

  • Manage financial resources to successfully achieve marketing goals and objectives within the allocated budget.

This position supervises a ​Digital Communications Intern

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for building relationships and creating connections that promote Jewish identity and engagement with the next-gen population.  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field/advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in non-profit marketing/communications.
  • Experience in philanthropy, non-profit management, or client service.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and executing effective social, web, and interactive multi-media marketing campaigns.
  • Must have a charismatic and engaging personality with a strong image and presence that engenders confidence and consensus building from staff, management, and the board of trustees.
  • Must possess the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships enterprise-wide, leveraging both strategic and operational leadership expertise.
  • Strong EQ and “touch”; an active listener who is open to new concepts and ideas, able to synthesize issues, and provide clarity and illumination to others.
  • Enthusiastic resourceful self-starter, who takes initiative and makes judgments independently, yet has the ability to work collaboratively and negotiate partnerships with colleagues, staff and volunteers.
  • Able to effectively multi-task, roll up one’s sleeves, establish priorities, and work in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with superior listening, observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong commitment to the Jewish people and Israel and knowledge of Jewish history and current events
  • Ability to work flexible hours (some evenings and Sundays will be required)

 

The Marketing & Communications Manager reports directly to the Jewish Community Relations Council Director.
